John Steger has been involved in catalysis for over 20 years. In 1975 at Exxon, he developed advanced chemical and petroleum catalysts. He began working at Engelhard Corporation as manager of Petroleum Catalyst Research and Development (R&D) and led programs aimed at the development of new fluid cracking and reforming catalysts. In 1994, Steger was appointed Director of Englehard's Environmental Catalysts R&D. He led programs to define and develop new automotive technology. Steger also directed stationary source programs aimed at VOC and NOx reduction. He is co-inventor of more than 20 patents and is co-author of more than 40 technical papers in the fields of inorganic chemistry/material science and catalysis.
