Nuclear Engineering Technology
Nuclear engineering technologists help offer practical applications of engineering principles to the nuclear industry.  They apply their knowledge of math and science to the safe application of nuclear principles for a variety of industries including power, health, and instrumentation and control technology.  They may be involved in developing waste disposal systems, new medical techniques or equipment, and advanced manufacturing systems.  They can be involved in reactor operations, health physics, or quality control.

Preparation
Those interested in a career in nuclear engineering technology should consider reviewing engineering technology programs that are accredited by ABET, Inc. However, there are many ET programs not yet accredited by ABET, so check with your local community college or university for more information. If you choose to attend a program that is not ABET accredited, you should be sure that the university is regionally accredited. Students take courses such as fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, electrical circuit theory, electric power generation, automatic control systems, materials science, and reactor design. The foll
