"Getting involved in
student organizations such as ACS Student Affiliates builds the
skills and confidence that you will need in almost every job." |
"The University of Northern
Colorado has a strong educational mission; all science education degrees
are offered through the science department. As an associate professor, I
concentrate on chemistry education and develop and test new approaches to
teaching chemistry, including applications of advanced technologies such
as multimedia and telecommunications.
I teach chemistry, science education, and chemical education courses and
seminars; supervise student teachers; advise students; conduct research in
chemical education; and travel around the world to talk about work done at
our school. I also serve on many university committees and work with
American Chemical Society committees.
Get a strong chemistry background while you are in school, but don't
neglect your other interests; in fact, cultivate them. Getting involved in
student organizations such as ACS Student Affiliates builds the skills and
confidence that you will need in almost every job."
