"I'm considered a research analytical chemist working on environmental
problem. Here at NIST, we're using thermal ionization mass spectrometry
where we actually look at sulfur isotopic ratios. We count atoms of sulfur
where each atom of sulfur has a different mass. Where each source of
sulfur would have a distinct ratio so we're thinking if we can get a
source sample, measure that ratio for uh that particular source then we
should be able to look at a atmospheric type sample and go back and look
where that sample came from or where that sulfur came from in that source
from in that sample."
