education, supervisory responsibility, accountability for projects, and
the geographic location, size, and industry of the employer.
According the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor
Statistics, the median annual wage for industrial engineers was $88,020 in May 2019.
The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $57,290, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $134,070. In May 2019, the median annual wages for industrial engineers in the top industries in which they worked were as follows:
